The MIFARE variant of the iShield Key 2 Pro embeds a MIFARE DESFire EV3 chip in the same plastic body as the FIDO key. For organisations that already issue MIFARE based door access badges, this lets one piece of plastic serve both functions: tap to log in to a workstation, tap to open a door.

The MIFARE side and the FIDO side are independent. They share a body but not a credential.
